Omar occasionally delivered packages for a neighborhood gang, but he had never before seen weapons or drugs. One night, two gang members forced Omar into a van at gunpoint, showed him a box of fentanyl packets, and told him to drive the van across town. While Omar was driving, a sudden flash flood washed out the road. Omar abandoned the van, saw a child trapped behind a locked maintenance gate, and broke into a city storage shed to take bolt cutters. He cut the gate and damaged a city electrical box while freeing the child. No one was killed.
